Thanks to
a spam post on the Hendon Mob's forum and an exciting performance by Warren
Wooldridge (UK), in the LHE final, this was, for me, the most exciting day of
the WSOP 2006.
The post was linking to the Stan James site's final
table odds. I took a bit of 12-1 e.w. on Warren who I have never met but Neil
"bad beat" Channing speaks highly of. If we could have played music his song
would have been Helter Skelter.
Starting the day in sixth place he
rocketed into the lead five handed. His chips headed down until a double up
before and after the dinner break put him back on track to our first bracelet
of 2006. However it was time for the downhill part and Warren was out in third.
Not before I had told John Gale, Neil Channing, Harry Demetriou Padraig
Parkinson and Peter Costa about my coup. Foiledcoup.
Italian Max
Pescatori's only chance of seeing the World Cup final was to make the final
table in the $2.5k NLHE. The final tables have been commencing about 2:30pm.
Otherwise he would be playing the noon $5k PLO. Max did just that and will
surely be online trying to make a Pescatori/Italy double.
No Euros
playing today so expect a strong challenge in the PLO.The Hendon Mob are all
here plus the plane carrying 79 Martins Poker players landed safely.
Todays noon tournie was $1k rebuys. Michael Mizrachi rebought 22 times,
Daniel Negreanu 9 times (quite a bit down on previous years). Only 9 as
Daniel's table including Isabelle Mercier, Farzad Bonyadi and Annie Dukes
boyfriend Joe were happy to let him steal their blinds.
