wins $8,000,000 and
WSOP World Championship

Once again, due to the pandemic, the 2021 Main Championship Event was postponed until November 2021 finally finishing on 17th Nov 2021.

The 2021 event was billed as a 'return to normal' after the 2020 event was cancelled and replaced largely with online tournaments, the exception being the final tables in the US and in Europe.

The last standard main event took place in 2019 and the chip leader entering the final day then was an experienced German poker player Hossein Ensan who went on to win it. The same happened this year with Koray Aldemir starting the final nine table with 35 percent of the total chips in play. He now calls Vienna, Austria, his home.

The 31-year-old German high-stakes tournament professional became just the third player from his home country to win the main event, joining 2011 champion Pius Heinz and the 2019 winner.

The win takes Aldemir to his All Time Money List Best Rank of 30th.
