1a.m. on the morning of Wednesday the 21st May
and there are only 111 left from the 394 of yesterday and 839 at the beginning.
A dramatic cull in any book.
After playing through 10 betting rounds in
the two days the players finished on blinds of 600/1200 with 200 antes.
Tomorrow they resume at 800/1600 with 200 antes and play down to the last 45
come what may.

Tough play all the way saw the top players with
mixed fortunes. Johnny Chan went out just before the money and the man from
Paris who runs the Aviation Club there is now chip leader. Bruno Fitoussi is
the leader who fortuned a fantastic recovery from only $10,000 chips to
$671,500! .
Yesterday's contender Phil Ivey has lost a lot of ground but
is in with 67k. British hopes have receeded further with the loss of Bruce
Atkinson in 61st ($15,000) and Julian Gardner in 54th ($20,000). Founder of
IGindex and multi-millionaire donator to the Conservative Party, Stuart
Wheeler, still plays on with $128,500 in chips.
There are 45 players
left to play through Day 4 down to 9 men. 63 places are paid. They are
currently at level 14, which is $500 antes and blinds of
$1,500/$3,000.
