Online Casino Games

Different casino games require a different level of expertise. While some games are simple and straightforward, other games require some time and energy in order to master the game rules. The most popular casino games are poker, roulette, and blackjack. Some games are more entertaining than others, however, not every game will satisfy your needs and interests. In order to choose the right slot, it’s important to learn more about the game rules and how you can win a game.

Roulette

Roulette is a casino game that dates back in the 19th century in France. The game is gaining popularity so that there are new forms of gameplay in the USA and other countries as well. Roulette is a game of chance. If you are lucky enough to win a game, you will earn some cash too. The game is about predicting the right number, color or section that the wheel will land upon. Certainly, there isn’t a proven technique on how to increase the chances to win a game.

However, there are subtle differences between the two game versions. In particular, the two most popular forms are the European and American roulette. What follows are a few differences between the American and the European roulette to know before you decide to try your luck.

European Roulette

As already mentioned, the roots of the roulette game date back in the 19th century in France. The original version of the game is certainly the most authentic one. The numbers on the roulette wheel are from 0 to 36. This gives the European roulette a slight advantage over the American one. The winning odds when playing the European version are 1 to 37. When it comes to the house edge of the European roulette, the percentage is 2.7. On the other hand, the American version has a house edge of 5.26 %.

American Roulette

The most noticeable difference between the American and European roulette game is the design of the roulette wheel. The American roulette has an additional 00 pocket. This lowers the chance of winning the game because simply there are more spots on the wheel to choose from. The winning odds in this roulette version are 1 to 38. The numbers in the American wheel are in sequential order, while the numbers in the European version are in random order.

House Edge

Some American Roulette games in the US and online suffer further by having all Even Money bets lose when either Zero or Double Zero come up. So these bets also have a house edge of 5.26% where as European Roulette has a house edge of 1.35% for the Even Money bets.

Another perculiarity of American Roulette is the 0-00-1-2-3 corner bet. This has a house edge of 7.89% which is the same as a triple zero roulette wheel that the occasional land based casino tries out. Like the Sands in Las Vegas which has an extra number labelled "S".

French Roulette

This type of roulette is identical in the rules with European Roulette but it is played in a different style. This is a land based game and is getting rarer as it needs a skilled croupier. The main difference is that players play with standard cash chips and the dealer must know who owns which chip. The dealer also uses a chip rake for clearing the table and pushing chips to winners. This is the sort of roulette seen in James Bond movies and the like.
