Can Chelsea
beat the odds in the Champions League? |

Unless their FIFA imposed
transfer ban is overturned or at least suspended while Chelsea's appeal to
court of Arbitration for sports is heard, Chelsea will not be able to register
any new players this summer transfer window. With the transfer ban ( if not
suspended or overturned ), the Blues can sign players but they can't register
them although they can sell players.
Chelsea have qualified for the
Champions league next season against betting odds that seem to suggest the
Blues wont be finishing amongst the top four. The Blues could as well be
winning the Europa league this season with various bookmakers rating the Blues
as the clear favourite. Punters can bet on the Europa league market using free
betting offers.
But beyond the Europa league, what this season has shown
is that Chelsea certainly needs to bolster their squad. Unfortunately the
transfer ban slammed on them by FIFA could be a barrier. But despite this, the
Blues have been linked with the signing of couple of players in the last few
weeks. One of the players the Blues have been linked with is Cardiff City's
Josh Murphy. This is according to various reports in the English media today.
The Blues are said to be in the market for new wingers as it is believed they
could be losing the services of Willian and Eden Hazard to Barca and Real
Madrid respectively.
Aside Hazard and Willian who could all leave,
Callum Hudson Odoi who is currently out injured could also be on this way out
with Bayern Munich reportedly keenly interested in signing up the young
Englishman. And Chelsea appear to be preparing for the unknown. Josh Murphy has
been one of relegated Cardiff's best players so far this season and it is not a
surprise he has caught the eyes of the Londoners.
He is likely to be
available on the cheap ( mainly because of Cardiff's relegation ) and his
signing will help bolster Chelsea' dwindling home grown quota - which to me is
the main reason why Chelsea are interested in signing the player if reports of
their interest is in anyway true. Current fringe players like Cahill, Green and
Drinkwater who are all home grown are likely to leave in the summer as well and
Chelsea will need to bring in replacements for them.
Chelsea will
however not be the only club interested in the Murphy. Burnley and Crystal
Palace have also been linked with his signing. Cardiff will ordinarily not want
to lose the player but their relegation from the Premier league makes it
difficult for them. The Bluebirds as Cardiff are otherwise known as likely to
want to cut their wage bills and for this reason are likely to reluctantly let
players like Murphy leave should the right offer be made for
them.
Always look to get the best odds and bet within your
limits. |
