Blackjack Switch set to take on the game of "21"

At the recent International Casino Exhibition at Earls Court, a new game was unveiled by a team of industry specialists that looks set to take on the old favourites. The men at Customized Casino Games Ltd have come up with a rival to the worlds most popular table game, Blackjack. In their version you are allowed to switch your top cards of two hands to make better hands. Small rule changes allow for the change in odds of making a good hand but otherwise this is a more exciting version of the long standing game of "21".

Geoff Hall, Managing Director, said "the game has already been installed into a casino in Iowa, U.S.A and offers are coming in from all major players in the casino games market".

Clearly the game has potential. It is based on the game that everybody knows and the opportunity to improve your hand will be appealing to casual and long time players alike. The question to the success is whether the rule changes will put people off. To this point, new games have done badly in Vegas because of the learning curve that most casual gamblers are not prepared to take on.

PLAYING INSTRUCTIONS AND RULES
Blackjack Switch involves playing 2 blackjack hands with the cards being dealt in the same way as regular blackjack.

Once the hands have been dealt, the player has the added option of switching over , (or interchanging) , the top 2 cards of each blackjack hand to create an alternative 2 hands.

For example, the player is dealt a king followed by a four for the first hand and a six followed by a queen for the second hand. (i.e. The top 2 cards are a four and a queen respectively).

For example, the player is dealt a king followed by a four for the first hand and a six followed by a queen for the second hand. (i.e. The top 2 cards are a four and a queen respectively).

Obviously some switching decisions are quite difficult to make so this option adds an exciting concept and demands a new challenging addition to skilful decision-making within the game.

Once the player has decided whether to switch or not, the hands are then played out as in regular blackjack.

To compensate for offering this added advantage , to the player, the following rules are implemented. (Although the overall casino edge is still lower than regular blackjack if the correct switching decisions are made).

RULES
Blackjacks pay even money.
Dealer takes ties on hands totalling 17,18 and 19.
Aces dealt as the top card of a blackjack hand cannot be switched over. (Although cards can be switched on top of an Ace to create a blackjack, for example).

Footnote : The "Dealer Match" bet is a further exciting addition to this game offering odds of up to 20/1.
