Hand 2 Second hand in Matasow and Scott Lazar get all in before the flop. Matasow has Kings, Lazar Aces. The flop showed a King for Matasow's top set, the turn brought a heart for 4 hearts for Lazar and the last was the Jack of hearts. Lazar doubles through.

Hand 7 Steve Dannenmann all-in with A-Q, Brad Kondracki calls with Ten-Ten. Flop is Q-J-4 but all spades and one of the tens is a spade. 4th card is 2 hearts but the 5th card once again made a flush for the underdog. Kondraki doubles through.

Hand 28 Flop of 5-3-2 two spades. Matasow all-in with Ten-Ten, call Steve Dannenmann with Ace-Jack one spade. 4th card is four of hearts, the last card no help and Mike is the 9th placed played and wins $1million.
Matasow said "I played the best poker of my life for six days, I have no complaints". He went on to comment that he is very happy to have put the last year behind him, having spent 6 months in jail for possesion of drugs.

Lazar is in trouble once again. The flop comes 8s-5s-3c, and Black is still in the lead with his jacks. Lazar needs to catch a queen, running tens, or a runner-runner straight to stay alive. The turn card is the 4c, and Lazar is down to three outs, needing to catch a queen to survive. The river card is the Kh, teasing him for a moment before Scott Lazar realizes he has been eliminated in sixth place, earning $1,500,000.

Hand 125 - Steve Dannenmann has the button in seat 8, Barch raises to $600,000, Dannenmann calls, and Black calls. The flop comes 9s-6c-5c, Black bets $1,000,000, Barch folds, and Dannenmann sits still, looking at the cards. He doesn't look that interested, but after a little while he quietly says, "All in." Now Black lifts his sunglasses up on his head, and starts taking the situation more seriously, studying the board with a wry smile. Dannenmann is smiling back at him a bit, which he's done a lot tonight. Finally, Black confidently says, "I call." Black shows 10s-9h (top pair), while Dannenmann has As-6s (second pair). Dannenmann needs to catch a six, an ace, or running spades to win this pot, which could be the largest of the tournament so far. The turn card is the 3c, and Dannenmann needs to catch a six or an ace (5 outs) to stay alive. The river card is the Ac, and Dannenmann makes two pair to take a huge pot from the Irishman Andrew Black

Andrew Black is eliminated in fifth place, earning $1,750,000, and he receives a standing ovation from the entire crowd. However he refuses any interviews.

Hand 156 - Tex Barch has the button in seat 3, Hachem raises to $500,000, Barch calls, and Kanter moves all in for about $4,300,000. Hachem folds, and Barch takes a long time to think about the situation. After several minutes, Barch makes the call. Barch shows Ah-Qc, and he dominates Kanter's As-7h. The flop comes 10s-7c-7d, and Kanter takes a huge lead with trip sevens. Barch is in deep water here, because he needs running tens, running queens, or running aces to eliminate Kanter. The turn card is the As, and Barch can catch the last ace in the deck (one out) to chop the pot. The river card is the 6h, and Aaron Kanter doubles up through Tex Barch.

Hachem shows Qd-7d, and Kanter has pocket nines (9s-9d). The flop comes Qh-8c-2h, and Hachem takes the lead with a pair of queens. Kanter is in trouble, and needs to catch a nine or a runner-runner straight to eliminate Hachem. The turn card is the Ah, and Kanter needs to catch a nine (2 outs) to win the hand. The river card is the 2c, and Joseph Hachem survives to double up in chips. His crowd of supporters is psyched, starting up with their cheer of "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie! Oy! Oy! Oy!"

Kanter shows Ad-9s, while Barch has pocket jacks (Js-Jh). The flop comes Kh-9h-7h, and Barch has a solid lead with his pair of jacks and a flush draw. Kanter makes a pair of nines, so he can catch a nine or an ace (but not a heart) to make a better hand. The turn card is the 8s, and Kanter is down to four outs with the last card to come. The river card is the Jc, and Tex Barch makes a set on the river to eliminate Aaron Kanter in fourth place, earning $2,000,000.

The players take a 15-minute break before blinds increase to $150,000-$300,000, with a $50,000 ante.

Hand 226 - Steve Dannenmann has the button in seat 8, he raises to $750,000, Hachem calls, and Barch moves all in for $5,650,000, pushing his chips out in front of him. The action is back to Dannenmann, who says, "Call," and then Hachem tells the dealer to wait, before he calls as well. (Neither of the big stacks raised, so all three players are in for $5,650,000 each.) The players must be as tired as the spectators (and the media), unless they all woke up to great hands. There is still a side pot at stake, so the hole cards won't be revealed yet. The flop comes 10c-3d-2d, and both players check the side pot. The turn card is the Qh, and they check the side pot again. The river card is the 9c, and they check again. Time to see what they have! Hachem shows pocket jacks, Dannenmann has pocket sevens, and I heard that Barch had A-6. (I couldn't see the cards on the monitor.) Hachem wins a pot worth over $16,000,000, and Tex Barch is eliminated in third place, earning $2,500,000.

The flop comes 6h-5d-4d, Hachem checks, Dannenmann bets $700,000, Hachem raises to $1,700,000, and Dannenmann calls. The turn card is the As, Hachem bets $2,000,000, and Dannenmann slowly raises to $5,000,000, Hachem reraises all in, and Dannenmann immediately calls. Hachem shows 7c-3s (seven-high straight), while Dannenman has Ad-3c (top pair). Dannenmann needs to catch a seven on the river to chop the pot with equal straights. The entire crowd is on their feet as the river card comes. There are only three cards that can keep Hachem from becoming champion. The river card is the 4c!
